SuKangYang Health Management Centre

LEMANARC SA

To imagine the future of health centers we must first think about what the patient needs from their healthcare experience. Calmness, Purity and Clarity of experience build trust for the patient and help to establish the brand of SKY (Su Kang Yang Health Centre) as the leader in the industry.

Inspired by the warmth of the setting sunlight across Suzhou Lake, the design materials represent warmth, calmness and help to make the patients feel comfort and a personal experience. Privacy and operational flexibility needs are reflected in the separation of general, VIP and doctor flows. To allow flexibility for the future and to ensure the design can adapt to different customers and staff needs the separation of flows maintains privacy but allows for efficient movement of patients and staff to the spaces they need. Individual and continuing care, concessions to privacy and discretion and an availability of services to meet any patient's needs are fundamental to a global experience in healthcare. The design ensures patients are treated as individuals and allows connection via telemedicine specific rooms to global specialists. Warm light is used extensively and is intended to be intimate and transportational. Large panel membrane lights are used to differentiate smaller spaces within larger open areas to personalize the space without compromising flexibility of arrangement of furniture or flow lines. Health care and health check-up is a deeply personal and private experience that requires the patient to give trust to the doctor and to the hospital. By making small spaces for individuals, we personalize this experience which builds trust and encourages patients to build a returning relationship with SKY health center. The plan is organized by 2 large spiral stairs that reflect on the local vernacular forms and culture and also makes vertical flows more efficient and helps with way-finding and orientation for patients. The design materials and forms are used to indicate spaces for rest, spaces for meeting doctors, spaces for healthcare and areas for recovery and relaxation. Curved walls and warm diffuse lighting indicate an area for waiting or resting. Warm white walls indicate areas for medical functions. Textured wall panels indicate entrances and unique zones within the building. This design strategy helps people feel immediately comfortable and familiar with the interior design and increases their feeling of privacy, personal care and brand recognition. The design for SKY Suzhou brings a unique brand ID through use of curves, warm, calming materials and a personal health experience. Modern concepts such as the future use of telemedicine and ensuring privacy as a main priority for patients separates the design from competitors in the industry and allows SKY to stand unique as a leader in the health center field. The design must fulfill the technical and functional requirements of a leading health center and also express the higher values that make the patient trust in the SKY brand and to build long relationships with patients that improve both business and healthcare.
