The Fish-Joy Bamboo Pavilion is the INBAR (International Bamboo and Rattan Organization) Pavilion for the 2021 Yangzhou Expo. It is an open pavilion with a floor area of approximately 280 square meters. During the Expo, it mainly conducts daily exhibitions and undertakes various activities of the INBAR, such as news release and reception. After the Expo is closed, it will continue to remain as a place to promote bamboo architecture. The raw bamboo material used in Fish-Joy Bamboo Pavilion has the characteristics of excellent tensile properties and easy bending processing. Through the combination with modern bamboo structure technology, it is convenient to carry out controllable shaping processing in the factory and on-site. Processed bamboo can be constructed quickly and has the stability and integrity of the bamboo structure. Taking the auspicious meaning of the traditional Chinese figure 'fish', the whole shape is symmetrical along the center of the roof ridge, and the roof ridge shape resembles a fish with a raised back, creating a characteristic interior space. The exhibition hall is open from east to west to form a 'wind through the hall', and ceiling fans are installed indoors to enhance airflow, trying to improve the comfort of users through more energy-saving methods. The middle part is combined with the highest part of the roof ridge, and a full-height lighting belt is set up. A permeable plexiglass plate is used to introduce rich light and shadow changes into the interior.
